ABOUT
​Carmel is a multidisciplinary artist; classical singer, composer, DJ, music producer, photographer, podcast host and soon to be radio-host. Initially a classical singer, she studied at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, performing in Australia, the UK, Europe and the US, most notably with London Voices, Gabrieli Consort, St Martin’s Voices and The Song Company, alongside the London Symphony Orchestra, the London Philharmonic, and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. She was an inaugural St Martin’s Fellow in 2017.
As a session singer Carmel recorded regularly at AIR and Abbey Road Studios including for The Avengers, Star Wars, BBC’s Sherlock and World of Warcraft.
After returning to her hometown of Sydney, she moved sideways into electronic music, producing and releasing on labels such as Big Ting Recordings and Extra Spicy (Sydney), Tooflez Muzik (Berlin) and Choki Biki (Dublin), and gaining radio play on the likes of Rinse FM, BBC Radio 1, Balaami Radio, FBI Radio.
As a DJ she’s played the local club scene including at Good Bar, Club 77, Tokyo Sing Song and The Abercrombie, Chinese Laundry and for Keep Hush (UK).Since Covid, she has moved into club photography, started a podcast called Living a Messy Life where she has conversations with fellow creatives, and is a resident DJ for UK-based radio show, Toxic Sickness.
